Did the s2000 ever come with a rev-limited ecu? My friend has a s2000 which cuts out at anything above 7000rpm. Honda said it was a fault ecu but thought I'd see what ozhonda community thought.

Also, what would be the cheapest way of going about fixing it? Buy second hand stock ecu? or could this be an opportunity to go aftermarket.

S2000 ECU should rev limit at 9k, if its revlimiting lower then it could be an ecu fault, or sesnor fault making the ecu think the engine is to cold or reving higher than it is.

is you have to replace the ECU, an aftermarket ECU will be the same price or at least close to the same price as a new OEM ECU, or go 2nd hand ECU.
