Energy suspension engine mount inserts

Hey guys just wondering your thoughts on this subject?

Any improvements to be had, and any bad points?

ive got them.. only the 2 side mount inserts are installed. still need to install rear ones..

downside = slighty more vibration when installed.. just give it time to wear in then goes back to normal

upside = saves the bushing on the engine mounts themselves. where the b series mount tend to go much quicker.. my mounts seem A OK! i can feel less movement. stiffer.

yeah i looked at the rear one and am dubious i can get to it.

My main concern is that i heard on launches it puts more pressure on you drive shafts.
Worried of a snap on hard launches at the track

well with boosted cars like yours.. you wouldnt wanna launch too hard anyway...? would snap regardless of inserts or no inserts.. but would snap in terms of your power and what you are launching at.. i would think.

with my one been to wsid launching at 6k no problems..

just dont let it wheel hop.. once it starts axel tramping then back off the throttle..

hmmm, so you reckon i should run the traction bar then?

if it works?

what i meant by the axel tramping is that it would most likely snap ur driveshaft if you let it go on.. best not to axel tramp.

well yes use the traction bar if it works.. i've never read up on that shit so i wouldnt have clue.. but if you have experience with it you would know better.

wheel spin you will always get.. esp in ur case with the boost.. but when it turns into ur car just hopping mad lol you should stop

hahaha

I have had the inserts in my DC5 in both the front and rear engine mounts for about 2.5 years. They give a fair bit of vibration even when compared to full aftermarket mounts such as Innovative as the ESMM inserts are jammed in tight in the mount so they transfer a lot of vibration. After riding in a car with 75A Innovative mounts I would say that the innovatives vibrate a comparable amount but they will obviously do a better job of restricting engine movement. The only negative of the full replacement mounts when compared to the ESMM is the price.

The inserts reduced my wheel hop to virtually nil but I am not much of a drag racer so I dont give them a very hard time.

yeah i only just got the traction bar, so i'm not sure either but yonas seems to swear by it to reduce wheel hop.

Yeah so long as i dun spin for more than 2 secs on the start i'll be happy :)

thanks charger, might need to put everything together hopefully in time for the run :)

Transzex, on d-series.org, say to put in the rear insert only to gain the most benefit and minimize the vibrations.

Never tried it, just cutting and pasting.

Another alternative is the Ingalls torque arm.

Tranzex is the man.Interesting, makes sense really.

I've had the 2 lower inserts in for 2 years and it is perfect.

I want to put the rear in but it's a bitch.

I didn't want to put the 2 upper ones in as I reckon it would cause too much vibration for a daily but being an auto,it was knocking quite a bit changing gear.So I put a torque damper in 1 week ago and it's awesome!!
A little different the first couple of days but it feels really good.It absorbs the knock. It does feel a bit jolty but I'm already used to it after a week.Feels more solid and better. It feels like the engine can take a beating more now :)

mine have been okay for the last year or so
filling a spare set up with 80a urethane, will let you know how they compare

Yeah,I'm lovin' the torque damper,it's gonna be a great benefit when I track her I reckon!
