What do you reckon is the best size rims to put on a fourth gen. I was thinking 17's and dropping it on its arse but I wanna fill the guards up and wondered if 17's would do it?

if you want to fill the guards with 17s get 17x7 with a offset of 40p...i had them on my car and the guards were filled. you can check it out HERE (http://members.cardomain.com/pearly_prelude)...

I've had 18's for years, personally think they are best, just check local road laws.

Huh? Is that a personal opinion?
I know of a ton of prelude's with 18's, Gen 3's, 4's and 5's all lowered (they'd look a little gay otherwise), varies between 1", 2", some even lower. Some even with 19's. All quite drivable...

For looks, nothing beats a set of 18s or bigger.
But for driveability, better performance, better handling, slightly better fuel economy, cheaper tyres to buy(!) - dont go any bigger than 16s. Although 17s is kinda alright if u want a bit of everything.

I think 17s look fine - on the right 4th gen with the right wheels, even 16s look plenty big enough.
It depends on the look you are going for, but 17s usually look fine on 4th gens. 18s normally look OK, sometimes they look to0 big though. Also depends on how you like to drive - if you want to keep the ride comfortable, 17s are fine - 18s can get a bit bumpy when lowered

i rekcons 17's are cool and stylish... = p suitable for most cars...
18's would b pimpin which is cool hektik and hot !
but for prelude i reckon 17's are enough they would go good wit d h22 18's would make a big diff...
decent rubbers are also costly for 18's...
