Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I came across a full set of suspension at a very attractive price but its for a EK9 unfortunately.

I know that certain suspension sets can be interchangable between models with the addition of Type R LCAs. But I just need some confirmation.

The product codes that the seller has provided me does not match up to the ones on the website at all.. (The website uses a different set of codes) ..

If anyone has ever done this kind of swap before e.g. Ek9 Suspension on DC2/R ... Please Please let me know...

Thanks all for reading

;)

The rear LCA's are different lengths. The EK9 is longer.

Does that mean that i would need EK9 LCAs to make it work ?

Thanks for all the replies thus far guys, much appreciated

Nono theres funtion 7 that allow you to use ek9 in dc2r I think.

Its a special lca.

i think its supposed to allow the use of dc2r sussy in eks

if i'm not mistaken, the only real thing stopping ek rear shocks fitting on regular dc2/dc4/eg-everything-but-6 is the bushing
it's like 3-4mm too thin to fit the shock on to

providing ek bushings will fit into eg/dc2/dc4 lca, you could grab the shock bushing from an ek lca and press it into your eg/dc2/dc4 lca and you should be able to use the shocks

anyone wanna confirm my theory?

correct.

So the bushing is too thin and it would not allow the Ek9 rear sussy to sit properly ??

as far as i know yes thats the case
will try to confirm later on tonight, was just lazy to go out and measure the thickness of the bushings

i'm not 100% sure which was thicker or thinner, but i believe it was the case of it not fitting because one was thinner than the other

With the front, EK9 will fit directly in DC2R, and vice-versa.

With the rear, its completely different - the EK9 strut bottom is a fork which fits over the LCA, the DC2R strut bottom is a big ball - which fits inside the LCA.

And on top of that, the LCA from DC2R won't fit EK, and LCA from EK won't fit DC2R - so you can't swap them either unfortunately.

Cheers mate, Dan.

that may be the case for dc2r's, but for regular dc2/dc4 and eg-everything-but-6 i believe you should be able to swap the shock bushing out on the control arms

but yes you can't swap out the entire arm because the dc/eg arms are shorter than the ek ones
you'll get fully sick negative camber if you swap on the ek arms on to a dc/eg if it's possible at all :p

just found this post (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1592426&postcount=8) from leo confirming what i had mentioned above.. :)

Alright guys, I have found further evidence supporting Vinny's theory. EK9 rear coilovers (aftermarket) will fit DC2.. However, DC2 (NOT R) rear coilover will NOT fit on a EK9 due to the difference in the alignment of the bolt holes. On a EK, the bolt holes of the DC2 rear coilover is too short and cannot reach low enough to be bolted.

Hope that this may be marked as a sticky for future references :)
