How do you guys keep the chrome plastic sections of the door handle and window rim clean and shiny? Do you use some kind of product or just a supersoft cloth? What if it has fine scratches (the size of swirl marks), what could you do to get it shiny again?

I don't use anything to clean the chrome bits, it sounds like you have and they scratched. I just wipe the bits with a cloth. They get grubby easily, I just wipe them down when I wash the car.

I just ran a cotton cloth over them, and it was a bit scratched on 1 section... Damn, oh well, stupid me. I'll try to get one of those microfibre cloths instead and try that.

I just use terry toweling, or my shirt!

You could try some of that rim wax or normal car wax to hide the scratches, I don't really know how effective it would be. You might just have to try it.

Okok, microfibre cloth it is. I'll pinch one off that was used for my camera before. Wash it a bit and dedicate that to the shiny bits. Thanks guys!

There is a product specifically made for polishing chrome that sells in the Autoshops if you are particular, but normally, car polish does the job... :)

I thought that is for real metal chrome. The Euro's chrome is just a thin layer of metal chrome over plastic.

BTW, saw a silver Euro with plates ARE-XXP on Paramatta Rd. when I was sending my car for its 1000km service. Was that one of you?

I usually use a small amount of my mothers chrome polish on a microfibre just before i do my exhaust tips and gives it a good shine and removes slight scratches, i think the mothers polish is pretty good i use it for everything, even when my wheels have tough stains to get off, mothers seems to work perfectly.

This if off topic a bit..so im sorry :p
Mini guide for cleaning wheels:
1.something like a "meguires", "mothers" or "armour all" wheel cleaner to spray on (dont worry about brands they are all the same)
2.hose it off the wheels after 10 minutes
3. dry the rims
4. spray on a wheel protectant like this that i am currently using. Works a treat
