Hi guys,

Anyone noticed strange noise for about 2 seconds when you first start the engine in the morning. My car is kept in garrage and normal temp is about 17- 18C inside the garage. Will take it to the dealership, but problem is that this noise happens only if the car is cold and not each time.

Thanks

what kind of noise is it?

It could be a normal type of noise, like ABS starting up. which is normal

Not sure how to describe the noise, but its quite loud. Other thing is it started making it for the past 2-3 weeks. Dont think is something normal.

UPDATE: Sounds like alternator, belt, bearing .... damn.... it is not the PINGING issue, thats separate noise Im having LOL

OMG.JAI xD

Could it be your tappets?

Cold start you have no oil or not enough oil at the top of the engine.
This sounds like a slight tapping/rattle and goes away.

Its normal.
If you havent had tappet adjustment in 40,000kms then id recommedn you get one.

But seeing as your car is a cu2. I doubt youve reached 40.000kms.

Hooyn has posted the same video in the following thread: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89325

It has been described as a whoop sound and seems to be caused by a faulty thermal expansion valve that's associated with the A/C.
