Around Sydney a catback should cost around $240-350. A cannon muffler will usually go for around $200-350.
any good place to get a cat back in syd?

well i have my old cannon off my 88 hb...if i cut it off at the end of the pipe (cos its welded onto the original 88 hb exhaust piping, which has bends and shit), would they just weld that to the 2'' madrel bent piping?

Yes, they can merely weld it onto your new catback piping.
Alot of people here would recommend Liverpool Exhaust for decent pricing. In some ways they are the "Tempe Tyres" of exhaust shops in Sydney, albeit with better customer service (sometimes) and I'm sure they don't drop/scratch/abuse your rims.
Fussy's in Lansvale is also touted to be a good joint to check out.
I find locating and speaking to your local exhaust shop (ie. Carline, Quickfit Mufflers, etc) would be another feasible option. One that doesn't require you to drive out to god knows farking where merely to be faced with rude service or even worse, shite workmanship. The trials and tribulations of having to continously waste time and petrol travelling out to these godforsaken suburbs merely to refix your rattling/farting/leaking/scraping new exhaust system can be circumvented with a simple flick through your local business directory (or Yahoo! Local Search on www.yahoo.com.au) and having a face to face or telephone chat with your local exhaust dude.
I've had abit of work done by my local Quickfit, they are top blokes, very easygoing and price fairly. They aren't completely inundated with modded 4cyl's going in and out of their place every 60 mins, meaning they can spend some time talking to you and answer any questions you might have.
Face it, it's not that fkn hard to weld a catback exhaust. Alot of these local dudes have been welding pipes well before we were old enough to sit in the family car without the babyseat. :)

It really depends what you're after. A cheap set up will prob cost you about $300 or so

If you aren't fussy, a press bend system from the cat back with a zorst will save you quite abit of money.. Although I'd rather have a mandrel bend system

Hi,
I just got a high-flow cat for my ED at liverpool exhuast which set me back $250. I also asked for a quote for a catback which was quoted at another $250, not including muffler as I already have an existing muffler. In addition I had my muffler installed and bought there for $330.

Yeah, why not... I wouldn't mind finding a good exhaust specialist for Hondas in Melbourne too.
