I'm hopefully going to purchase my first prelude tomorrow. It's a 4th gen and i just want to know what engine it has before i buy it! The current owner claims its an Si Vtec Vti-r lol. It's had no engine conversions or anything.
The engine number is h22a1154036;
from memory i know that the engine number begins with a base model followed by 7 digits...
Does that mean its a h22a (Si VTEC) or h22a1 (VTI-R) ?

Im very new to vtec, so dont be too harsh on me please. :)
Any comments will be much appreciated (unless you curse at me or something).

JDM 4th gen is Si Vtec h22a

Aussie Vtir is h22a1

I knew that lol but from this engine number 'h22a1154036,' are we looking at a h22a1 or h22a ?

EDIT: Sorry the title should say 'Which Vtec?' since there both Vtec ^^

Not if you plan to insure it.

Some of the big name insurers wont touch it if its an import nomsayin

same shit.

I dont know much about these engines yet, but i know the jdm was made 147 kw and the aussie was made 142 kw, and the stock h22a (Si Vtec) preludes weigh about 75kg less than the aussie preludes (Vti-R)

I hope its a JDM :D
