like the title says, i did a DIY on my o2 sensor, changed my front o2 sensor (vti-r integra) and left it idling for 5 minutes. The engine light is still on afterwards.

I was told by Midas that it was the front sensor. They hooked it up to their computer and everything but was quoted a ridiculous price so i figured cant be that hard, and it wasn't.

so my question is why is my engine light still on?
any ideas ?

first you gonna know what CEL it's giving, how did you come to the conclusion of o2 sensor anyway?

thanks :)

like i said in the first post, i left it at midas (the yellow mechanics thats usually on tv)

also forgot to mention that after i changed it, i noticed lower revs at idle

Try restarting the ecu by unplugging the battery terminals an see how you go

about 5 minutes

have you tried to connect/jump the service plug to see CEL codes?
just to confirm its actually something o2 sensor related.

Agree with mocchi, there is a DIY made by benjamin on this forum on how to do it. Very easy to do

As above, get yourself a paper clip and see what CEL's it's throwing.. Probably isn't even the o2 sensor.

just did the CEL check, got codes 41 and 23

23 Knock sensor
41 Primary oxygen sensor heater

not sure why the 41 is still there unless i did something wrong?

there is only 2 o2 sensor on a integra vti-r right? front one under the headers and a rear one.

mate there is only 1 o2 sensor on a VTIR

code 1 is the O2 sensor
code 41 is the O2 Heater

your wiring loom could be damaged. Your Old sensor was probably OK.

code 23 you knock sensor is probably disconnected as well

what ecu do you have ?

test your sensors properly before changing parts. If you donthave the tools/skill, then take it to someone who does.
