Hey mate, in my personal opinion...
Km are way too high and if not serviced properly...might have problems ! Logbook is needed or have a local mechanic check it out for you..Hannys the honda specialist said the old prelude engines ain't so tough compared to the rest of the others but they could be bi-est.

Ain't a fan of those lights..prefer an much oem looking one or go upgrade to the 97+ models with the h22a engines :)! Looks and goes better.

Overall its your car, get what you want and like. Just make sure engine is ok ...logbook and all...try find one with lower km's and more rego to save money in future!

Well look whos back aye

overpriced. its a 94 with 265xxxklms.

Although he said its been rebuilt 20xxxklms ago its still risky. could be quite a few other components of the car that could cost $ to fix with high klms.

Make sure he/she has proof the motor has been reconditioned also. Can get something much more reliable for $4500 aswell.

i know..went a bit awol for a while there..been busy!
at any rate, i wish a car would just materialise in my driveway without me needing to actually do anything because this is such a headscrew!
thanks for your help.

haha, i feel the same. Buying a car can be a real PITA.

Are you specifically after a honda? Whats your budget?

If there are any other cars your not sure about just update this thread and post them here.

Peace out

Average yearly km/s is 25,000.
This car is 1994, so roughly 17 years old. 17x25,000=425,000

This car has below average km's.. Infact it has FAR below average.
Besides, it's a damn Honda.. They're still brand spankin' new til 200,000kms+

Also it's an upper model 'Lude, with all the power-goodies.. So 4000-4500 is a fair price for a well looked after Honda of that year, with relatively low KM's.
3 months Rego is a downside, but hey.. Brand new tyres are nice!

Find out what exact Motor is in this car, and let me know.. And i'll give you some more info! =)
But this seems like a good buy so far!

Can get something much more reliable for $4500 aswell.

Name one 4 wheeled Vehicle more reliable than a Honda Accord/Prelude for $4500 or less. I dare you.

Seriously?

Why so pro honda? Get out of the rock you live under. hondas arent the only reliable cars out there.

It depends on the driver, how well he has maintained and taken care of the car. Still it is overpriced like most honda's. Its a 94! Below average klms doesnt change the fact that they are still high.
If you checked the car out and its in good nik i wouldnt pay more than $2500. I am not saying stay away from it, simply it is overpriced, and expect things to go wrong at that age.

The BB4 preludes have really crap re-sale value, Something to think about.

Toyota Corolla would rape any prelude, accord in reliability

Here you go, 2000 model, lower kms, no rice

Now that, is a good buy!

That prelude is too expensive. You can probably bargain that down to 3.5k

True about the reliability thing but it's a corolla... You'll have zero fun with it. Is fun an important factor?

Maybe you need to get under this rock and learn a few things.

And i should have been more specific.. A car as reliable, stylish, comfy with all the electronic luxurys and has a brilliant aftermarket support for anything from repair/replace to modify/improve.

Not sure who you've been talking to, but a 2000 'Rola isn't exactly a flashy car.

Accords/Preludes hold value because (some) people appreciate quality.
I wouldn't be suprised if that car saw out 400,000kms with no major issues.

They have a perfectly fine resale value, see the resale value it's asking for currently?
Preludes are hard to sell is a more accurate problem.. Which is completely true, you'll sell 10 Civics or Accords before you sell an old Integra or Prelude.
Just how the world works, they're less sought after.
Doesn't mean for a second that you will be unable to resell it, and it definantly doesn't imply it's a bad car.

That said, shop around.. If your heart is set on a 4th-Gen Prelude then i'm sure you can find one for $3500.

lol umm dc2 integras are actually really quite easy to sell as very highly sough after...
had a bb4 VTiR H22a prelude all it needed was a retune and rego, after 8months of people coming and going i got sick of it sitting there , i sold it for 900 bucks after buying it for 4k
to some dude on this forum

why do you keep bringing in accord/prelude as the same car ?
one is a family sedan (we didnt get the coupe in australia just incase you argue that)
the other is a sports coupe..

lol at you thinking someone is gonna buy a 93 bb4 prelude to be flashy in...

Alot of other cars are reliable, have electronic luxurys, aftermarket support etc. It looks to me as you have only ever driven a honda.

LOL. who said we are looking for a flashy car?

They dont hold value lol. theyre overpriced because of the badge they wear. Quality? Prelude's IMO are butt ugly, heavy, feel like crap to drive, even with a h22 they are slow.

400xxxklms? tbh i wouldnt be suprised of a honda achieving that. However its not the only vehicle that can.

Too many people thinking 92-94 model cars with 2XX,XXXkms are high. Do the maths. People are so stupid as soon as they hear the kms.'ohh too high'. Make me cuoi bro.

I am assuming its her first car + she doesnt know much about cars at all + she doesnt have anyone to help her find a good car as she is asking here. So i would say a car with higher klms for her is not a good idea. My last 3 cars have been 200/300xxxklms+ i dont have a problem with that.

I had a 250000kms corolla full service history from my aunt and it never missed a beat. Not saying you should get a corollary just kms mean shit a 100000 kms with no oil would be ship.
