We can reveal a sneak peek at what we can expect to see as the 2012 version of the reigning World Time Attack champion vehicle the Japanese CYBER EVO. Now partnered with Japanese bodykit giant C-WEST the new look car will certainly be a different animal to the Voltex prepped body that we have become so accustomed to seeing.

We managed to get these spyshots of the team making new sideskirts and an underbody ground effects lit with smooth undertray.

The rear consists of more pronounced DTM style gaurds with large vents and a much lower profile rear wing than what we have seen previously.

But the real big change appears to be in the frontal area with monster front splitter with huge winglets not unlike the MCA S13 ran with last year.

There is no question that C-West know what they are doing and they do have years of Super GT experience but whether they can upstage all the work that Voltex had put into the car over the years remains to be seen, particularly when the car is due to be loaded into a container in the next few weeks meaning the only testing the team will get will more than likely be in Sydney!

It will certainly be interesting to see if these guys can improve on what appeared to be an extremely well sorted aero package and certainly the C-West engineers will be pulling out all stops to make a big comeback to time attack racing.

For many years in the early days of time attack racing the US the C-West s2000 (pictured below) was the car to beat. This year in Sydney they will to beat another S2000 and Nob Taniguchi will be doing his darndest to make sure this doesn’t happen!
