hey guys, so recently bought myself a black EK1, D16, clean 100,000kms.

But! first thing i noticed was a slight miss-fire at around 60kmph mid-low revs in 3rd, and around 105kmph in 3rd aswell, it didnt effect the performance to much in the beginning but as i went for a cruise-meet in dandenong ranges it was miss-firing in 2nd and 3rd gear up the hills quite badly and left me putting behind 400+kw cars.

so first thing i got was new fuel filter ( was half blocked, dont think it had been changed since "06 ), new spark plugs ( old ones were covered in carbon build up ), and injector cleaner fuel addittive, there was a noticeable difference after doing this but there is still a slight miss fire in mid and higher revs of 3rd.

ive thought of manually cleaning the injectors but im not too sure whether this is the right thing to do, help??

As said above. Also dont use E10 and check air filter

I would be leaning towards spark plug leads. If you need somebody to diagnose it, let me know

Thanks it does feel like it could do with a good tune, what could you price me for a set of new leads and tune?

tune a stock ecu?

change the leads, check the throttle body sensor (theres a diy here some where)

then distributor.

I've basically pulled most easy bits n pieces off it, doors had a fair amount of water in them so chucked some cheap shamwows and it did the job well, new pioneers to replace the old is nice, no more plastic bag speakers :D

new cheap advanti 15x6.25's or some shiz, there okay slightly concave so cant complain for 350 with 4 roadworthy tyres.

im really just looking to clean this car up as much as possible without hindering its daily-ability too much, and move it on so i can buy me some VTEC!!

ill have a build thread later in time with simple things of restoring and improving the looks and creature comforts of the car, nothing fancy but i hope it intreagues people for when i sell the car in 6-12months.

And one more thing, clean the IACV. Everyone usually forgets about the IACV.

wont cause a miss above idle. IACV stops working above 1500RPM
