G'day mates. Im on desperate mode right now.
You see, i'm goin to install my KONI Shocks + KING springs combo tomorrow to my Civic 92 EG. prob is i need tips or suggestions before i fit it on.
let me just mention that i am not a height-change fanatic.
i just want it to be comfortable and my car is jampacked most of the time.
Any Tips/Notes/Suggestions ?

Set the Koni on half turn from softest initially and adjust after a week or so if needed
Make sure the height circlips are locked in properly
If theyre new you should have install guide to follow

If reusing the shock dust cover you will need to grind out the inner hole alittle to accommodate for the larger koni piston shaft
If you are stuck or lazy and in Sydney , I can install quickly and cheaply ;0)

so far got no issues about it except for the rubbing sound i hear everytime i do sudden full-lock turns at the roundabout.
i reckon the mudguard is touching / rubbing the shocks IMO, well im not sure. i still need to go back to ISON and let the guys
adjust the thing. not really a big deal though.

i was there when the guys fitted the thing mate but i didn't see the guys grinding anything. :/
is that something i need to worry about? so far there's no issue though other than the rubbing sound i hear everytime i do full-lock turns at the roundabout.
do you have any idea what causes it mate?

Install looks fine to me :)
The noise you hear at full lock is the inner guard rubbing at full lock. You have 16s or 17s yeah ? This will happen will you lower the car. You can remove the inner splash guard and this will often fix the noise issue.

i had 16s on mine mate. thats a bit wierd coz i told the guys that i just want the standard height. no height drops at all coz my car is full of family most of the time.
so i shouldnt be expecting those rubbbings.

Honda brakes are more than enough even on the tracks, so why would he get a brembos. If u can afford them, (or dreaming about a set of brembos), doesnt mean every 1 can.

i'm starting to hate this king springs + koni shocks combination now coz it's rubbing everywhere on my car to the point that it's damaging under, leaving some friction marks.
im reckon there was some mistake in fitting these ones or the height is lower than my requested standard height setting.
heeeeeeelp. :(

Should of got a different variant of King springs
Adjust your fronts to full stiff?

Hmmm, not much can be done about that. except maybe install some fat spacers too push the springs up. but i would imagine that to be dangerous

Rust. the tire will remove the protective layer. rust will develop. The tire will remove the rust when rubbing some more. In a year or so you will have rubbed, rusted through the metal!
As said if the shock is adjustable. put to stiffest setting. As for the king springs. Did you go for a lowering spring? if so this is why.
you could always run a smaller tire!
or a spring spacer. but heard alot of bad things about them!

put stock springs on koni dampers
give good sussy stroke
SU-WOOP
06-01-2013, 03:38 AM
bring it back ill move the perch up or swap the kings for the oem and put shorted front springs in the rear for that stiff feeling
i dont think the king springs are a good choice but the shocks are the best!

Getting kings springs wouldn't give you standard height, there for your car sits lower lol

Incorrect. They sell lowering springs, stock height springs and raising springs!

According to the part number - KHFL-58A, they are SUPER LOW springs.
Why you would buy these and expect standard ride height is beyond me (and other peeps too I see)

oh shit. after all that has been done, it's just now that i realised that i just bought the wrong springs. O_O after everything. eversince, i really thought i was having standard height springs (KHFS-58A/KHRS-59) but tbh i thought those codes didn't make any sense not till now.
efff.. now how am i suppose to deal with this mess? O_O
do you guys have any idea if i can return the springs?

doubt it.
just throw in standard ones, they would be compfier.
nicer spring rate. the koni struts, might be a little shorter which will add some pre tension might make them just perfect.
sell the springs to someone who wants to lower.
