For MOTUL-supported team Nissan GT Academy, the Silverstone weekend was crowned with success. It began with the best time in the trials for Alex Buncombe with Nissan #23, in Pro category. And it finished with second place of #22, in Pro-Am, in the hands of Jann Mardenborough, Gaétan Paletou, who held second place in his category passing the wheel to Ricardo Sanchez. The latter did a good stunt, for his first participation in the Blancpain Endurance Series: ‘It was a fantastic experience. The car performed well and it was most exhilarating to drive in the lead pack.’
Mardenborough took the wheel for the last driver change and finished on the heels of the category winner. ‘I had a lot of pleasure during this race,’ he stated. ‘I hadn’t driven a GT3 at Silverstone for a long time and I had the satisfaction of suitably managing the tyres, encountering no difficulties until the last four laps.’
For the team and drivers, all roads now lead to Le Mans where they will meet again for the preliminary trials on 31 May.
