Hi guys,
I was just reading in the Euro Manual page 316. The recommened speed before you change to 5th is 225km/hr
Has any tried this? tested it? how far can u get in sixth :P
I'm talking about in a safe and legal environment of course

I can't be bothered going and checking my manual, but are you sure you're not looking at the maximum speed in gear table?. I think the recommended speed for shifting into 5th is 80kmh, and 6th is 100kmh.
But they're just suggestions for ease of driving and fuel economy. Nothing beats shifting at 7100rpm.....except maybe right on cut-out....but I digress lol. You're a long way from flogging it yet. ;)
Oh and the fastest Honda Indicated speed I've attained is 222kmh, and that was still climbing. Remember your indicated speeds are approximately 5-7kmh faster than actual. 2500rpm in 6th gear = 100kmh actual, 2500rpm in 5th gear = 80kmh actual.

Baboo goes to track quite often, he might be able to answer you better.
Matell is right, when travelling at 100Km/h in 6th gear, It is about 2500rpm. I found the rev is slightly higer (about 2600RPM) just before oil change at 30000km service. Maybe the new engine oil make the engine run more effortlessly.

hahaha.. wow, if the euros have a recommended gear change to 5th gear at 225km/h, i would get a euro accord 2mrw! get caught by the cops, and i'll tell'em, hey, its what they say in the manuals... don't wanna spoil my new euro now do i..... hehehee

Mmmm, 225km in 5th gear is probably the max speed.
6th gear is normally an over drive so top speed in 6th should be lower.
I have never gone over 200km/h in the Euro even on the track!
you could all try it in Gran Turismo 4... ? :P

generally i find you can shift 5-20km higher than what the manual recommends, from memory 2nd gear is to 80km, which i know can reach 90-100km.
on a side note, gt4 is a different euro to ours, being the JDM Euro-R model. So it would be different.

I have shiffted from 5th to 6th at about 230 kmph and the car still had about 2.5 - 3 grand to climb before i hit redline.
this was when i was in the NT of course ;) ;)

That sounds about right based on my run also. Though I'm not sure there's enough torque at those revs and at that speed to overcome drag. If you could slipstream a 250kmh+ car I dare say you would be able to nudge it closer to redline in 6th, but then that's all purely academic :P

But.... at 6050RPM, third stage VTEC opens up and screams... Your passengers should be screaming at that time... not 6500RPM:D
