I dont know about exact weight but my friend who owns a DC5R has one and it's MUCH lighter. It's more of a bling-bling mod though ;)

CF splinters badly when ya crash - and are on the most part, illagel, coz they splinter and shrapnel gets in the innocent bystander....

Keep in mind MOST cf hoods doing the rounds are made of CF layered upon fibreglass....cheaper , lighter and prob not as strong as FULL on Carbon fibre.
Its a CF resin layer upon a fibreglass "bonnet" so to speak.
I am guessing these are from cheaper places...and real JDM CF hoods are from...Japan ? :P
