teh TB would be useless without a type R intake.
jsut a type R intake and Type R TB plus Type R cams would be a good upgrade,
wouldn't you want a LSD before a FD?
t..
PS prices off top of head

God damn! So you think it wouldn't be adviseable to bolt on the throttle body onto the existing manifold. With regard's to those, I was thinking something along the line's of a Skunk2 inlet.
As for an LSD, if the car alway's hook's up with both wheel's, what's the point?

well for one, you will have to port match the manifold to the TB,
the Vtir manifold ( I ASSUME you have a Vtir?) would not provide enough airflow to take advantage of a bigger TB..
LSD - hmmm, try the point being when you are turning - not going straight!
do some research on LSD's and TB's, this will help you out a bit :)

Turn's aren't much of a concern, so im not fazed.

lol, save your cash then and also tune your FD by your tire diameter
(i ASSUME you want it for drag racing?)

Yeah drag racing it is. What final drive gear's do the VTI-R's run?

4.40 i think...
the R's run 4.78 or so...
(rememebr the lower the number, the higher the ratio...)

So the Type R arrangement is the way to go then, yeah?

yes, get a Type R gearbox
it is perfect :)

It's just that I was considering a final drive change very soon, while the box was out due to a clutch upgrade......

LOL!!!
it will cost you hundreds to crack the gearbox open to repalce the FD...
but if that is your thing, then go for it...
where are you getting the FD from?
is the workshop you are getting to do it familar with Honda's?
if not, make sure the warranty will cover destroyed gearboxes if they mess it up...
here is a site that outlines the swap - http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/fd-swap.html
oz spec type R FD is 4.4 (tested with jdm96R and oz specR)
jdm98+ type r is 4.785

Guy... Just a word of caution...
It's not a good idead to fit a larger throttle body and or Type R style intake manifold (JG Edlebrock included) without first changing your camshafts. (Minimum - Type R)
You will lose power.
To fit an Erick's throttle correctly, the intake manifold mating flange must be machined, as the existing hole is of insufficient size.
Regarding the final drive...
Be careful which one you purchase...
The 1st counter gear inner diameter changes. 42mm ~ 47mm
Regarding fitment,
Changing the FD is no real drama once the gearbox is out of the car.
It takes around 3hrs on the bench... (Once the box is out of the car)
NB: This is cruising with ample time for a smoke & a beer in there... ;)
Though it adds slightly to the cost, it is always a good idea to change your drive shaft seals, whenever the gearbox is removed...
Whole job can be achieved in 1 day.
Best value is achieved when an FD change is combined with a clutch / flywheel change.
Best results are achived with a lightweight flywheel, Type R transmission swap combined with an ATS lower final drive.
When you do change your FD, don't forget to purchase a new nut for the end of the Lay/Output shaft.
Cheers
