Hello

Just wondering i have a serious problem i think my engine sounds like it's working overtime and it smells like shit as well :S

For example when i start i have to hold the excelerator down in gear 1 and it will make a real loud noise and the revs will go high and then the same whn i hit 2 - 3 and it is really hard to reach 60.

I think something like the pistons are blown , i don't know but thats what my dad said but he doesn't know much about cars ,

Question is what could it be and how much am i looking at to get it fixed , i just need to know as i still need to drive this around as i need to get to work and back and would it make the problem worser , i'm going to take it to the mechanics on wednesday..

Any help on what sort of problem this could be so i can see how much cash im up for would be a huge help.. And yes it's a manual.

Thanks in advanced guys

hmm i think it might be cheaper then u expect. Im banking on your clutch is very worn and is slipping :) this would cause what u are experienceing.. ur looking at around $500 to install a new one.

In other news, are u blowing smoke out the exhaust?

put it into a low high gear and try and go up a hill. if it rev's out instead of stalling, its ur clutch.
