OEM front and rear springs - how to tell

I have always thought the front springs were longer than rear

am i right..

the yanks are getting me confused..
they have said its the opposite..

considering they are alsmot the same spring rate 250/250.. and i cant use a pressure test method..

does anyone know what the color stripes indicate..

The front ones tend to be taller and the metal is thicker, rear ones should have slightly larger coils (should be 'wider')
