95 EG Hatch...sohc no VTEC..what engine code?

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this is a real NOOB question, but got a 95 EG Hatch, no vtec, just want to know what the engine is (d16y..etc) Was thinkin of doing the swap adding a vtec head or "mini me" if i can.

GLi efi = d15b7

ummm what model is it? Vti (has vtec) = d16y1, Gli = d15xx, Gl = d15xx, breeze (was it still available then?)

these things are never very clear, good luck with finding info on all the little codes you might need to know! maybe you could just swap in an entirely different motor? ie d16/b16/b18 etc... cos its been said that the mini me may not be as reliable as a whole engine from the hinda factory... differnet ppl say different things...

hey thanx for the responses...its a 1995 Civic hatch GLi, EFI...if thats any help....is there anything in the engine bay which will tell u this?

it should be a GLi

i dont think 1.6 came out for gli until 96

look your car up on redbook.com and check the vehicle spec's. You'll see engine code on there

and
