Hey Guys,

I'm doin a engine conversion at home and pretty sure i can take care of all the machanic stuff. But i'm pretty lost about wiring it all up. What is the normal and easiest proceedure to re-wiring up the car?

Car A: 97 Integra VTiR Aus Spec Complete With Everything even Key (Still starts up :) )

Car B: 97 Civic CXI (The car i'm wanting to put the engine in)

Pull Every single wire out of car A and place it in car B

or

Modify Car B's wiring to suit Car A's ecu.

Any help appreciated.

A would be less painfull

it'll be a cut and paste.

B will have a bit of headaches if u dont know your wires..

then it'll take a very very long time

Agreed with A.

A may take a bit longer but you'll have less headaches :)

No need to swap ignition switches, just the Main Relay wiring onwards.
Every wire being swapped can be a nightmare, it is a case of working out which wires are worth swapping over because they are different, then swapping them.

you will have to either disable the Immobiliser in the ECU or fit the Immobilser controll unit and reciver.

your teg is OBDII right.

Yeah the teg is OBD2. But the key looks pretty crap, unlike my civic key. But then again, i've never seen a teg key before. Any input if this key would or would have an immoboliser on it?

Pics for Ecu-Man, and i've been told by a few that 94-97 VTiR Aus spec Tegs are OBD1. Do these pictures confirm that?

I dont mean to throw another spanner in the works mr dUy :p but i was under the impression that pre 96 is OBD1, Post 96 is OBD2?

John clear this up for both Duy and myself?

James knows his ecu's so it's OBD2. I was told that OBD2 all had engine immobilizer but my car doesn't from the key. Bloody confusing.

ok that key is defenantly OBDI and that ECU is OBDII

what some people do is butcher their OBDII key and take the transponder out of it and stick it near reciver, then they can use type R keys or any other key that fits.

can yo take a pic of your ignition lock of the teg, sorry to be a pain in the ass.

on the EK's the engine loom is a one piece loom that goes through the firewall and plugs directly into the ECU under the dash on the passenger side.

So you will ask yourself which loom do i Use? The DC2 engine loom has connectors terminating just after the firewall... If this were to swap in a EG it would be plug and play unfortunately its not as easy for an EK!

97 ecu connections should be OBD2A (looks like it on the pics), I would totally utilise the CXi engine loom fit that on to the B18C, add the missing wires and add/extend any wires/sensors that are missing such as VTEC, KNOCK, IAB control and also you will need to wire up the heated O2 (4-wire) as the CXi from memory is single wire.

As for the immobilizer there is a bypass method but if your 97 ecu doesnt have a onboard immobilizer then you might get away with it... However on the EK's they have a separate immobilizer relay unit that I have seen on some models...

all AUDM EK's have the Immobilizer control unit under the dash
