View Full Version : Coilovers for dc2 vtir
hey i was just wondering if anybody has coilovers specifically for a dc2 vtir? or knows of a company that makes them? i originally wanted to get a set of tein ss but it seems that they are only available for the dc2r, in which case i would need to change rear lower control arms. so i was just wondering if changing lcas was my only option for coilovers, or if there are infact vtir specific ones out there? thnx heaps

try whiteline coilovers, if u dont mind non-japanese brands. im sure they have suitable coilover packages for vtir - that do not require ITR LCAs.

maybe look for eg coilovers? they fit up to a dc2 though slightly different spring rates. I think for d2 the diff was 6 for eg and 7 got dc at the back, and both 11 up front.

most coilovers come from Japan it seems and thus are made only for Japanese versions of our cars - the DC2 and EG6 being the likely versions...both use bush style rear suspension so you need either EG6/DC2R rear LCA's to fit.
There is ways around...source local coilovers...or perhaps DB8 version ( that cam with a fork style rear too) - im fighting the same battle Lerroy dont worry :)

i bought it band new.
actually, i haven't seen the coilover yet, so i can't make sure. but i had confirm to my friend and he said tein SS can't fit any dc2, just got tein flex can fit it, so i took it.
anyway, when the coilover landed, if they can fit in dc2(don't need dc2r LCA), i will let everyone know, and post the product code aswell.
cool good stuff man, awaiting response
may i ask how much they set you back?

$1950 landed (with upper mount).
Can someone explain or link me to a spring/shocks combo vs. coilovers? IIRC coilovers are the spring and shocks in one? Are they meant to be better handling?

U will be needing a set of rear dc2R LCA, i just had a set of tein flex fitted the other day. I think all jdm integra has the dc2R LCA, so we dont really have a choice here in aus.
