Hi everyone,

Was just wondering if anyone out there can provide with with some advice in terms of a few slight problems with an integra im looking to buy.

First of all the car is a DC2 Integra Vti-r.

I've got the car on deposit and have had a full honda vehicle inspection and a couple of faults have come up..

Now the guy at honda is telling me that if i fix the slight problems the car will be fine.

Just curious if anyone knows about the following faults and if they are a big worry etc.. like they are all going to be fixed with honda warranty but i would like a second opinion and to see what you guys think.

Like in terms of whether the car will be fine in the future etc..

Problems are:

clutch master cyl leaking

slight oil leak from sump gask and rear main oil seal

as you can tell im not very mechanically minded and not 100% sure on these problems ne advice would be great.

and ohh one more thing is there any other faults i should be aware of that are common problems after 100,000kms??

thanks heaps guys..

clutch master cylinder is an easy fix.. 60 bucks and it should be done

rear main seal is a big job and does require the gbox to be taken off.. so all ur the costs will be going to labour..

if the clutch is on its way out then id wait till then
btw if ur gonna change the rear main seal anyway.. you might as well change ur clutch while ur at it.. save u some money in the long run.. it will set u back about $700

Thanks for the quick responce.

yeh in terms of the real main oil seal i've been quoted 900 by honda including labour.

so do u think it would be a good idea to replace the clutch aswell.

i will ask them about that cause they didn't mention that it was worn. i will see what the think abou it.

you will probably find it may not be the rear main seal, this is very rare to leak at this Km's and age, more so loose sump, much more common. still your rear main seal could be absolutly rooted, even your crank could have a ridge causing the leak. but very uncommon. Im not saying it isnt the rear main thought

if its from a dealer, get him to fix it first...

dont shell out any of your cash...

its like if someone sold you a watch that is faulty, you'd expect them to fix it properly before you wore it.

okk ill add my useless input.. if ur the one having to cover the cost of repair and ur willing to pay to fix all those problems then theres no point in missing out on a decent car..
