Is there any reviews on whether asymmetric tire pattern is better or worse vs uni-directional? Eg. Michelin Preceda and Yoko AD07.
I always thot directional is better that inside-outside tire.
Anyone knows which is better?
Thanks

im my opinion asymmetric tyres is better.
here are some differences i can think of between the 2 designs:
Asymmetric
Can be Rotated to all 4 positions of a car
More quite than directional
better performance is achieved from different inside & outside tyre pattern, inside usually for better wet performance and outside for high speed conerning.
Directional
Can only be rotated from front to back & vise-versa
cosmetically more attractive
good water dispersion on wet roads
usually more noisier
Now keep in mind both types of tyre are all good but just asymmetric has abit more advantages over directional.

dont really know but asymmetrical patterns may not necessarily be able to be rotated to all 4 positions - the higher end tyres are still directional.....
from my eye ball opinion, it seems like the bigger manufacturers have moved away from uni-directional V-shaped treads.... look at the S02, RE070, Pilot sport PS2 etc.... but a few still use them Goodyear eagle F1 D3, Yoko V102 etc.....

yeah i noted that all the high performance and semi slicks are directional.
So i would say it is prob better with directional...
