I'd like to know where I should go to in Melbourne for a motor swap in an ED/EF civic. The motor going in would maybe be a D16Y8 or D15B VTEC...
And approximately how much would the whole swap cost?

Thanks :)

This has been discussed before. Do a search on the same topic and you should find heaps of threads specific to Melbourne guys.

Any decent mechanic should be able to do the swap but i wouldn't get the work done at a place unless they've done Honda's before (and engine swaps in general). Don't be tricked into going to some expensive 'brand name' workshop when most decent mechanics these days can do the swap and probably provide you with an engineers certificate as well. Having said that, be careful of dodgy 'backyard' mechanics who might not be there the next day. An established workshop won't do a dodgy job and disappear. :)

There is a D series VTEC engine for sale in the For Sale section. You should check it out.

Oh I see. I thought you wanted to know price for the engine as well. Well, like wyn said use the search function dude, there have been countless amounts of threads on this. The labour would probably cost you a bit I'd say - but then again I've never done it.

Will that engine bolt onto the ED/EF drivetrain? Isn't that engine from the EG series? If it's a direct bolt on then that will save you money. ;)

Just remember, labour is not cheap!
