I done this on Fast Fourums also, but for those that didn't see that, list what sort of Integra you own, what mechanical modification's you have done, and what sort of power (kw @ the front wheel's) it's pumping out. :wink:

My Brothers white DC2R put out 115kw at the wheels at Sydney auto salon


all motor!...no special fuels or nos..


no internal mods either!

My 96 VTi-R puts out 150.6bhp (~113kW) at the wheels with the following mods:

1) ducting from the front bar to undernearth the intake filter
2) air filter and aluminium intake pipe
3) 4-2-1 extractors
4) 2.5" madrel bent exhaust
5) 3" pipe muffler

All the work and the dyno was done at BD4's motorsport in Sydney.

seems very high mate..

on the same day and same dyno as which took the 115kw type R's reading..other std type Rs got between 95-100 at the wheels..

on a mainline dyno..similar to dyno dynamics

Like Jnr Teggy said, it is the gear closest to 1:1 and that can vary depending on the box.

With most 5 speeds that tends to be fourth.

Overall, from what I've seen, the dyno's at CV Performance & Croydon Racing Developments seem to give the most accurate result's. Other dyno's tend to be way off.

All I can say is that I can pretty easily beat stock Type-Rs in a drag... whether the numbers are high or not is up to opinion I guess.

try not to compare dyno readouts from between dynos ey ;)
they all give out different readings. great for tuning, not so great for pissing contests...

my friend's vti-r has a 15.3 timeslip- cat back, 16" rims, eagle f1's, fubar transmission. i think he got 2.3-2.4 for the 60'. i'd say he could get another .3 seconds out of that car by working on his launch alone.

dyno figures IMO should only be used for tuning purposes and forseeing what each mod has contributed to the total output figure of the car...

Times are run not solely on power itself but upon other things as well (tyres,driver,ambient conditions)

Paul @ BD4s dyno is the same dyno as used in the US which IMO gives out high numbers...

still nice power output ATW nonetheless...

120kw atw on 2 dyno dynamics dyno's

14.2 1/4 mile with a very poor 60ft. trapped at 100 mph - (a good indication on hp alone)

Dude in your Vti-r you wont beat a stock type R, it revs higher and also has your power output stock and is lighter..

hate to burst ya bubble to the dc2-R guy who posted that a vtir cant spank a type R. my mates del sol with I/H/E on his stock b16a (torqueless) has beaten a few type Rs with the same mods..

oh and if ure sitting there calling BS heres a vid of one..

there is no hard and fast rule to say that a vti-r with i/h/e will be quicker than a type R..

it has THE MOST to do with the driver and conditions as opposed to the cars power output itself!

as far as i am concerned its not a proper and legit race unless its two drivers going for broke on a drag strip!

and as far as power outputs are concerned...there is no point comparing them unless they have been taken on the same dyno on the same day!

still dont agree with you on point 4 100% though.. what u saw there was a fair race..I mean we could get one dude post a time that he did at wilowbank on a 40 degree day and another post a time he did at heathcote at 15 degrees. If they raced on the same track same day then yes.

127KW @ wheels. Stock injectors maxed out. Will post update and dyno sheet in a month or so once final dynotune done with new hardware.

This is the dyno result (done in 4th gear) from my car last year.... before I had my 'Buddy Club' ECU installed!! 8)

Engine Mods -

* 2.25" non-mandrel catback exhaust. If I had know better at the time (3yrs ago), I would have simply changed the muffler and left the OEM mandrel bent system on; as it is would be less restrictive than the non-mandrel - DOH! :oops:
* Custom air intake, retained in factory box (resonator removed from front right guard).

Was still running the Honda FEO oil at that stage also.... until I switched to Castrol 'Formula R' 5w-30, in December 2002.

It's been said more than once. There's no point just looking at a dyno plot because they vary from Dyno to dyno.

As an example, mate got his 300zx dyno'd at C&V performance and pulled 105kW@the wheels.

Same car with minimal to no variations pulled 12xkW@the wheels at another dyno (I forget the name.....a place in giraween).

Apples and Organes ppl.......but its nice to see nonethless :)
