Engine die on me

hi... just need some of u guys info and tips... my engine is a b16a.. n having some problem... cant seems to figure out... as the engine is hot... n the needle of the temperature gauge is just below half.... i suffer loose of power... the car just will not go as if something is block.as if it bog down..even thought i step more.it does not go... wat might cause the problem occur ? i know my car is idling weird 2... fluctuate all the time.... n something the rev just stay at close 2 2k rpm... n i have to step a bit on the fuel.... n when i do... it will go back to 900rpm... wat might causing tis problem ? oh yea... 1 more thing tat i know is.. temperature gauge needle will go up and down 2... does not stay still... when its cold... it will be way below... tats my thermostat problem

i had change the spark plug n spark cable... n those seems not to be the problem... from wat i heard.. might be my fuel injector r dirty... throttle body... n iacv could be clogged... and any other reason why my car is behaving like tat ?

Could be anything. I would perform a ECu check. Look in the DIY forum if you don't know how too. If all sensors come up fine, i would looking getting the injectors flow tested and cleaned. Change fuel filter, clean air filter.

is you engine light on? if so do ECU code check as mentioned previously above. otherwise try the below..

do u have any water leaks? - check radiator and timing/pulley area for water leaks too - as your head gasket could be goneskies ... - this could be why ur having heating problems. - check and replace thermostat too.

also in regards to ur lack of power, u may want to replace fuel filter, clean injectors / intake manifold - IACV - TPS.

u didnt put shit fuel by any chance?

also - do u have any exhaust leaks? exhaust manifold cracked / joints leaking. as this will make u loose power..

check for any vacume hose leaks aswell ...as this will definately make ur car run like shit.

do the above simple inspect and clean/replace ..then see how u go ...

YES - if your B16A is an OBD0 then the ECU will have the light on the ECU itself.

if your B16A is an OBD1 then the check engine light will be the one flashing!

it happen sometimes... n sometimes its fine... i could just easily rev to 7k - 8k... but when it happen.. i will know as it will happen at 3k rpm... then it seems to bog down... refusing to go..as if something is blocking it.. even though i step more...

have u tried re-setting ur ECU?

as i noticed this sometimes on my car too .....

all u can do is try ... as sometimes the ECU mappings will play up specially if u put in shit fuel = air/fuel mix ratio..

just unplug ur battery for couple of minutes and step on the brake pedal and hold it in to drain out the left over power/current in the electrical system.

u can try other things besides the brake pedal, e.g. turn high beams on, press and hold the horn button, etc... as long as it has power when pressed/hold. (power as in when u had the battey connected)

doesnt matter if u have a spoon, mugen, Ecu's etc.. as this can be done.

worth a try man...and who knows ... might actually solve ur problem..

n yea.. 1 more thing... the car is running really rich... hope could i adjust it? been using 98ron all the time.... no cheap fuel... :P

does check engine light come on?? map senser could be playing up as u said only wen the engine is hot...

Nop... dun think the engine light on the dash come on.....
