I am installing a dc2r intake on my b16a1

the b16a1 has a resistor box for the injectors.. where as the dc2r injectors i am installing don't require it..

just wondering the steps/method required to remove the resistor box

why dont you just use the peak and hold from the b16 then you wont have to change.

here are some links anyways
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64152&highlight=injector+resistor+box

www.g2ic.com (http://www.g2ic.com) search injectors

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12096&highlight=injector+resistor+box

search and you will find
i know you will find heaps regarding this topic on g2ic. Wiring diagrams and all.

1. Unplug & remove resistor block
2. Join all 5 wires that went to resistor block together
3. Job done

great help when you dont specify which 5 wires.

Umm..........errr.....?????......there are only 5 wires going to the resistor block.......
There is no need to be more specific......

ok cheers
will have a look when comes to it

i cbf using b16a1 injectors
OEM setup.. not ghetto removal of spacers etc
basically no fiddling, direct replacement (besides new plugs)
newer injectors
i presume more aftermarket direct swaps?

its more hassel using dc2r injectors rather than the b16a1 injectors as you also have to change the injectors connectors as well as bypassing the the resistor block.

change injectors 10 min job

bypass injector resistor block and change connectors 1 hour job

Ok, so I was doing some more searching and found a thread that helped me understand how to do this a little better. Here is a copy of what member Colin posted in a thread from the dead.

"1) Cut off the original injector clips and solder on the newer style which will fit the saturated injectors (or modify the original clips....I personally have not done this, so I can't say exactly how to do it, or how well it works, but most likely its a self explanitory job and works pretty well)

2) Remove the injector resistor box.

3) Take the wires that went into the injector resistor box and solder them all together. (Personally I prefer not to solder them together, but to use the oem end plug which serves the same purpose on obd1 honda's....it just provides for a bit cleaner of an install)"

Notice i have specified which wires as there are more than 5 from the box :)
Still dont know why you would bother tho'

Injector resistor blocks only have 5 wires

for example the DA with the b16a has 2 plugs, not just the one. He didnt specify which generation resistor box it was. If i was home i would take a picture of mine. wait till tomorrow i'll show you what i mean.

yeah that would be cool,

Iv only seen one connector 5 wire resistor blocks.

Why would a 4cyl resistor block have more than 5 wires,there is only 1 power feed + 4 injectors= 5 wires.

that is the box i have (unless i have the wrong thing :p)
i see five wires going into the box.. but nothing coming out.. is it just grounded?

yes you can use the 5 wire plan as suggested.
i just have a different one, i'll show pics tonight (if time)

so i'm home and decided to double check about the resistor box. and yes in deed it has 6 wires instead of 5.
5 wires into that connector, and a separate 6th one.

so i pulled it appart and found that the 6th one was an earth. As to why you would earth an alloy box, i wouldnt know.

There are only 2 explanations,

1. its a second hand car so a previous owner may have replaced the injector box and through his infinate knowledge added an extra earth.

2. honda thought it would reduce electrical noise

3. the work experience kid was allowed to make injector resistor boxes.

with that said. the answer to the question would be join all 5 wires on the clip only.

does the extra wire look like its factory ???
