Hey all, just thought I would say hi , introduce myself and my cars.

My name is Dirk and I live across the ditch in good 'ol NZ. I have 2 cars. A newly acquired 2003 CL9 Accord Euro which is my daily driver. And I have my weekend wagon, a 1996 Honda Orthia (which you've probably never heard of in Aussie).

Only pic I have at this stage. It's a completely standard ex-lease vehicle which I got for a really great price. Thank god it has a 6MT!

This have been my project car for the last few years or so. Started out completely standard. Started with wheels and suspension then came the engine swap. A mate and I swapped in a 96 spec Integra Type R motor and g/box. It makes it a very fun wagon to drive.

Well I'm off to read everything in the Accord Euro forum.

Cheers.

Thanks for the replies. When I first saw an Orthia it reminded me of a Subaru Outback wagon because of the headlights.

They range anywhere from $4000 to $12,000 depending on year and condition. To get a good idea just go to http://www.trademe.co.nz and do a search for Orthia.

My one is for sale at the moment and I'm only asking NZ$6000 :D

I used to have some led lights under the dash that lit up the foot wells. I took them out ages ago and just left the button switch in.

I'm not to sure if it can be. But I know if I ever moved to Aussie I could take it with me and re-register it there. Would cost about $2-3k. I know a few people who have done it.

The Pron Mobile :D

hehe someone finally said it :p

1. It's a wagon...
2. It's got a huge sub for all the vibration needs..

Isn't it obvious? :D

I remember that wagon; saw it on NZH a few times when you did the conversion

Still a JDM '99+ Accord Wagon is better or better yet a Euro Accord Wagon

I am myself from NZ; came Feb last year

Whatever you do, stay in NZ

But I know if I ever moved to Aussie I could take it with me and re-register it there. Would cost about $2-3k. I know a few people who have done it.
You need to probably at least double that and you'd be close to what it would actually cost to get it on the road in Australia. Shipping alone would cost $2-3K don't forget that you will have to pay stamp duty on the car when you register it here and rego is $600 odd per year

Accord wagon's are ok. Not quite my cup of tea. Nothing beats the raw power of a B18CR motor though IMO.

And I see what you mean about sending it over. But then again if I did move over I would have taken it no matter the cost. It would have been a unique vehicle in Australia.

Yeah I had the same attitude when I brought my car over; and it's really not worth it

The novelty wears off, parts are hard to find and insurance is insane

I paid $400 pa for full cover in NZ
$1500 pa for basic comprehensive with no road rescue, no windows nothing...

Because it's an import no one will insure it except for Just Cars which is like NAC which suck the ****

I think all up my car was like $7000 on the road in Australia a year ago

Kinda funny cause it was $7500 bought, landed and on the road in NZ nearly 3 years ago...

Are the trailing arms like EG/EK or CRV?

Same question for rear lower control arm.

Also, curious about rear axle configuration.

Nick.
