Hi all, I've been thinking about upgrading the intake on my EK1, and for a while I thought I was ready to get an sri, an injen one to be specific.

I've been reading a bit since and noticed that sris and cais add a fair bit of noise to the overall driving experience.

I came across the Comptech icebox which looked perfect, and messaged Leo at JDM concept, and he says comptech no longer exists? Now the other similar option is the mugen one, but that's pretty pricy, and that sort of money should probably be better put towards an engine upgrade..

I'd still like to get a tiny bit of performance increase (without too much ricey noise) from upgrading the intake- are there any other options? Or any other options other than a high flow panel filter?

Thanks again :)

what i did is i got an ITR box and modding it and modded the intake arm aswell to hide my intake system.

What was your intake and did the box reduce the noise?

Umm... It's an airbox for your pod filter.

Simota's new offering, not sure if the usual places will carry it though.

Possibly... But i think you can only purchase it as a complete unit (not sure?)

Anyway heres where i found it

australianauto.com.au/

-Air filter kits, select Simota , then air filter kits again, then it's on page 4.

If your not happy with that check the Carbon fibre section

Nice J's racing looking intake.

Hmm, they don't mention a 00 EK.. just

SIM-PT617-2 Honda Civic EK 96-97
SIM-PT617-3 Honda Civic SI 99
SIM-PT618 Honda Civic 2001

Will any of them fit? Curious about that thing now lol

So I sent them an email.. here's the reply

"Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, we do not stock the Simota Intake Kits that you have enquired about and are unable to obtain them for you. We do however, have the SIM-H003-POL available for $129.00 and the ECB-4850 available for $249.00 including delivery."

Oh well..

^ WTF False advertising... $249 for the CF... agree bit pricey.

As a last resort you could quote those part #'s to autobarn etc &
see if they can get them though a different source???
