Did you happen to notice the temp guage before you shut down the engine? Sounds like an overheated engine to me, i.e. it was boiling (strangely enough).

sounds like overheating engine , was there steam coming from the radiator or radiator water bottle?

actually i'd like to add
now i think about it
its sorta that....bubbling sound
when u pour water down really fast down something ?
and it bubbles up coz it can't go down quick enough ?
i dunno if u understand what im trying to say.
lol

the best thing, check the hose, check the leaking, check the waterpump seal
change the thermostat, even you change 2 months ago (maybe its fak now)
nothing else beside those problem s

That's unknown at this point, but it's at least possible. Before you drive the car or even start the engine, I suggest you check the coolant level.

next time it happens have a look to see if coolent is flowing over into the overflow bottle, then you will know if its is over heating!!!
Also is that a stock gauge that you are looking off? If so they are mainly useless untill its too late and you have already cooked something:eek:

my 2 cents:
your radiator cap is there to build pressure in the cooling system, because as we all should know, water boils at different temperatures when its at different pressures,so rising the pressure rises the boiling point, hence why we have radiator caps with springs etc.

so if there is a leak somewhere in your system, pressure cannot build,so your cooling system is at atmospheric pressure so it will boil as soon as it hits 100 degrees, not 110-120ish like it should if theres no leaks.

so i think you might have a leak, try and get a hold of a pressure tester to check your cooling system for leaks,if not, leave the cap on,run the car for 10mins and see if it leaks anywhere
