I have had it in for a about a week know, the front strut bar, it touch;s the engine but thats no biggy as we have found out thats not wats causing this issue..BUT ever since ive had the strut brace in wenever i turn a rubbing/squicky noise appears asif something is rubbing against another thing (obviously) then stops as i straighten up... me and my mate are stumped and duno wat it could be, we have covered the fuse box even cause we though maybe that was rubbing the bonet but it still persisted...

Has this happened to you or what may you think it is, my mate also thinks it may be the suspension or something as the strut has kept the chase tight..

No need for the bold text yO

Does the strutbar have any new marks on it?
Like friction marks?
Is it bolted down securely?

yeh its bolted securely, and we put some towel under it where it touches the engine rapped around the strut but the noise still happens. sorry i find bold text clearer to read lol:P

it touches the engine ? When you accelerate / slow down the engine pitches , more than likely bumping into te strut bar.

Also check the bar is tight both ends

Put a coupla washers under the strut bar mount bolts to lift it up a little

done washers, its all tight, and i no its not the engine pitching as its wen i turn corner (not breaking not accelerating)...

when you are turning corners? maybe your engine mounts are gone.

engine mounts are brand new, and only happens wen the struts in the car.

simple. Strut bar is simply making noise , metal on metal when the chassis slightly flexes during cornering. Nothing you can do - either get a better thicker strut bar or take it off.

This is gonna sound stupid - but is strut put on the right way? its not flipped or reversed??

I had a similar problem after a shop took out my rear strut and put it back in upside down - it fit. but wasnt 'smooth' as it should be and also made the sounds you have noted.

but yeah..like above - it could be just that - it makes noise due to flex...

its in right, and it cant be metal on metal as i have put towel raped around where it touchs metal....ill take it out then get a new one then i guess :s

Dude , let me ask you this - what does the strut bar connect to ? What is it held by ?

Metal on metal , and held in place by 4 metal bolts held by metal nuts. This is enough to make a "metal" noise :)

lol thats true it could be where its connected ill look into it..its got washers to raise it a lil so maybe? maybe ill take the washers out put it back on try it then if its the washers ill get spacers that are rubber maybe

dont use spacers or washers - its reducing the contact of the strut bar and thus making it useless.
Either tighten and make sure its properly toruqed and deal with the noise or take it off.

The noise is reasonably normal - i used to get it ALOT with front and rear strut bars in my old civic. Chassis was twisting and the bars amplified this movement. No issue but.

its just if i take the washers out then the bar will be pressing down on the engine rather hard this is it now:

was the bar made for you teggy???
all struts usually should have good clearance...

it was bought in america by 180sx (the member) in a set of tie bars and strut braces, could have been for the acura integra, but there would be to much difference...people i have spoken to that have these in there car have looked like the exact one as this one and most of them say they touch and acouple say they dont touch...some say cause there engine mounts are warn letting the engine drop a little and cause mine are new the engines sitting higher.... still doesnt defeat the reason of the noise

id take it off and sell it. too much hassle.

FYI this strut bar will suit EKs EGs and DCs hondas too
