Hey guys im looking at improving my suspension/handling for my ek1 and was wondering if the DC2R sussy will fit straight into an ek1.

If it does, how much better is the DC2R sussy then the shitty stock ek1 sussy and will it drop the car anymore then the ek1 sussy?

Thanks guys.

Chris.

have you considered EK9 (civic type R) suspension?

not sure if the rear are fork type though. If it is, it may fit.

ahh ok so ek9 would be my only option and thats if it has rear forks?

EK9 straight bolt on front and rear

dc2r front ones will fit front of ek

pretty much the same thing. Get EK9 springs and put em in your stock shocks - should be fine.

so the shocks are the same then for ek9 and ek1 that means no point in buying the whole sussy kit, just the springs?

Know how much they drop?

that is correct. Very slightly lower than EK1 or EK4 height. Stiffer/firmer too.
Combined with atleast a EK4 sized rear swaybar it should make handling and stance nicer.

DC2R suspention will fit straigt into a EK1, front knucles and shocks will bolt straight in.

rear DC2R hubs have to be bolted on the rear EK1 arms. DC2r rear springs will fit EK1 struts. Dont think you can use the DC2R struts.

DC2r BMC fits EK1 but your stuck with the EK1 prop valve

Couldn't have put it better myself J!

The DC2R suspension is GREAT. I don't know why people bother with coil-overs etc.

The things that matter most are the swaybars, give those lots of attention and don't cut corners - like the girl makes the dress, the swaybars make the car!

But how does DC2R suspension go on the track?

DC2R suspention will fit straigt into a EK1, front knucles and shocks will bolt straight in.

rear DC2R hubs have to be bolted on the rear EK1 arms. DC2r rear springs will fit EK1 struts. Dont think you can use the DC2R struts.

DC2r BMC fits EK1 but your stuck with the EK1 prop valve

So if i was to go dc2r sussy what would i have to purchase and what wouldnt i need?

Mate you need to read abit more carefully of what people are saying.
You would only be able to use the front suspension. The rear will not fit your EK1. You would need to change the LCA & hub from my understanding, i've never seen anyone bothered to do it. I wouldn't bother either.

IF your so set on dc2r suspensions, get the ek9 ones they will fit exactly, and are a similar setup, also saves you the trouble of retro fitting something that wasn't meant to be.

doubt it
dc2r = eyelet joins for the rear lca
ek = fork joins for the rear lca

you can fit dc2r springs to ek sussy without a problem afaik
if you need dc2r springs, let me know got a set here
