an odd size you got there anhie, 205/45R16 much more common. 215/45R16 I've seen on MR2 as an oe rear tyre size.

Those RE711 are amazingly good tyres, grips well all the way down the tread, not too noisy and long wear despite a low treadwear rating of 140. I've just replaced a pair of those in 195/60R14 on my old E30 325i after 9x,000kms with GIII ( not a lot to choose from in that forgotton size ) and they feel wobbly in comparision.

Re001 comes in 205/45R16, and if you like the way the RE711 behave you'll love the Re001. Their rrp prob in the $180-220 range but if you shop around and good at haggling you should be able to get a shop to supply and fit at your budget of $150/tyre.

Fellow member e240 managed to get the re001 205/50R15 for $119 fitted at Hornsby Bridgestone tyre centre NSW, not sure if you have a neaby BTC willing to do such sharp deal in VIC. From my exp, BTC does the best possbile deal most of the time, Bob Jane occasionally whereas some tyre chains strongly encourage you to buy their favored brands eg Kumho, Kelly, Toyo etcs due to margins, incentives and credit terms.

thank for the help. didnt know they were uncommon. thought all 16 inch are the same. got confused when the guy from beaurepaires said it was uncommon and i would be looking at over 200 each.

im looking at t1r that an trader sell here, would 215/40/16 fit? 150 would fit my budget but will have to paid extra for shipping, installation. (and the wait).

yeah i was in the same boat as you.

my budget was the $600 mark and i reckon the toyo's were the best
value for money in that range.

205/45/16 for 150 per corner in t1r's.

even try the dunlop direzza's as ive heard some good reviews over in the US, but not entirely sure about the different sets we get to them.
