hi

now that the new Jazz has appeared at dealerships around the country (well they are here in Melbourne at least :-) ), I thought it could be good to start getting an idea of what deals people are getting.

So please write in with your hard negotiated bargains.

I was offered a GLI SP manual in white with mats for 18,800 today, although I am reasonably sure that I could have got it down to 18400-18500.

I will buy one of these during the next 10 days, so I will post back with my final price

LOLZ.... well yesterday got a quote for

man VTIS
-mats
-rear wing (yes... its an option even on the VTIS now... rort!)
-foglights

Onroad $26k+ ROFL! While this price was before negotiating and I managed to get a sub man VTIS RRP for the above.... I am having doubts about the price of the jazz when it does not have VSA/climate control.

which dealer, SPEEDCORE?

SPEEDCORE
19-08-2008, 08:59 AM
Not sure if we are allowed to be saying dealers names and prices etc atm.... but it is somewhere on the Southside of Brisbane.

BTW.... that deal was only if I put down cash then and there.
But yeah.... when I saw it go to $26k + I said to my partner to organise a drive in a Civic Sport and see if she likes that.

With reports of people getting FD2s for $30k on the road..... it might very well be worth spending the little extra..... even if there is a looming facelift.

is the jazz known as the FIt in japan ? if so spoon has started producing parts for it.

26 k is tad expensive for what it is, as speedcore said to his wife~i would have a go with civic sport first aswell. never know

I'd be happy to pay $25k drive away for that model + equipment.

whoa, $26k+ tell him he's dreamin'! I think hes trying to capitalise on the fact that anyone coming into the dealers now, before theres been any ad campaign or whatever is a jazz fan and they really want one. Im sure if you give it a month or so that price may go down a couple of k's, esp since Sept is end of the quarter, you might be able to have a bit more leverage.

Do you know what other options they have?

hi

i do not mean to be rude, or unfriendly, and all these comments are helpful,
but I had hoped this thread would be a series of posts where people describe what they bought and for what price in what city.

Such a thread can be a great help for others trying to get a good bargain, and gives a good guide to what can be negotiated with a bit of luck and effort.

Perhaps we can try and keep this thread nice and tight like that, and discussion/opinions about the prices can be started elsewhere?

what do the rest of you think?

Jo

getting quotes for various models of Jazz is probably the best you're going to get so that you can make up your own mind how much you think is reasonable to pay for your new Jazz.

We're probably going to get only a handful of people who are willing to name exactly what they bought and for how much, because they don't want to feel they have been ripped off. Those people who will freely tell how much they got their new Jazz for are those that got it for a "steal"...so it's not really a fair indication or bargaining tool for everyone.

I know for sure that I wouldn't want to tell everyone how much I bought a new Jazz for if by chance it's $5k more than what someone else got it for for the same model. But certainly I'm not telling people not to. It's up to the individual if they want to reveal that sort of info.

Can someone shed some light on why the highest model Jazz doesn't even come with Side Airbags or curtain airbags ? At 26K I would expect it should.

Compare that to the states and for there $14K they get a fully loaded Jazz with better features we don't get.

It's a pretty poor effort by Honda me thinks, especially consdering the money they save importing ours from Thailand.

I think gli is the only model that gets the SP option. Cause on the new jazz catalog it doesnt have it as a option for the vti and vti-s.

95331140: Vti-s does not have a leather steering wheel and foggies are option. I asked if i could get a leather steering wheel on the vti as an option but they told me they never made it for Australia.... how sad... I guess u can always get it imported from japan!!! :)

95331140
20-08-2008, 06:52 PM
So now for the same money, we're loosing the leather steering wheel, foggies and rear spoiler.

I'm not quite in the market for a replacement jazz as yet, but these few omissions should give buyers some bargaining amunition!

I purchased a base-model GLi manual last Saturday for the full RRP with mats and metallic paint thrown in for free and half-price tinted windows. Initially I got promised more by the dealer, but when it came to signing the contract, the big mean boss said no. There is not much choice for model/colour at the moment and it's really hard to get a bargain. It's hard to bundle it with additional gear and make a deal when they don't have photos of accessories.
BTW. it goes soooo much better than the old Jazz and new GLI feels like the old VTi power-wise. Can't wait to get my delivered in about 10 days.

I "heard" a rumour that there will be additional savings coming up, the stamp duty will be trimmed slightly for all cars that are outputting "low emmision's", and it is almost certain that the Jazz will qualify for this, dont know if its only ACT or country wide.

Heard it will trim the price by roughly $500. The announcement is happening early September.

Dont shoot the messenger!!!!

Awesome! That'll help. I dont know if this means anything, but when i went to my local honda dealer, my dad knows a guy there and he showed us the initial pricing memo from honda head office, and it mentioned on it, that the dealer margins on the new jazz remain the same as the outgoing model. Looking at it at face value, shouldnt that mean that when it is released officially and dealers can have a little more leeway, that you could haggle them down a lot lower than what we've been seeing so far?

youll be very hard stretched to get anything but the release prices for the first couple weeks, unless they are a really unsmart dealership they will not be discounting much off on a brand new model.

if ur lookin for a deal best waiting a month or so for the hype to die, but then ull be competing with waiting lists

I got one HONDA OEM on my 08 accord, and it works just fine, but a bit overprice if you order from dealership, I recon u can get sth aftermarket one, better function and cheaper.

What do you guys make of the Honda OEM Bluetooth System?

I was thinking of getting one fitted.

Hey all

Bringing up an old thread... based on the previous posts... the best price I could get (feasibly) would be approx 19k for a GLi, 22k for a VTi, and 24k for a VTi-S?? (All Auto, with floor mats and 12 month rego) The car's been out for approx a year now... I'd be after the '09 cut tho...

Any thoughts?

We are about to buy the 2009 Jazz VTI-S Auto in silver and the equally keenest price we have had so far (Victoria drive it away/nothing more to pay) by 2 dealers has been $25,800 with carpet mats and a full tank.

We reckon that's pretty good bargaining in this recession.
If anyone can better that, we'd be eager to hear of your endeavours.

Not quite knowing the whole family of Honda's stable of cars, I think it not possible to get a Jazz VTI-S Auto now for 24K considering the 4% increase across the board in January of this year.....driveaway figures that is!

Admin...wouldn't it be more prudent to have a topic thread that was specifically for the price watch on the new 2009 HONDA jAZZ seeing that the old 2008 model is gone and dusted and not relevant to the new price increases for 2009 from Honda anymore?

I just recently bought the VTi-S on the '08 Clearance sale for $26,200 Drive Away for an Auto, Silver, Fogs, Door Visor, Car Matts, Full tank and 5 Year Warranty+ Road Side Assist.

The price has certainly gone up, but the cheapest dealer by far, as most were asking for a minim of $29K!!!

Sorry Sireza,

The best actual way to find about prices, is actually calling every dealer, ask for their best price over the phone.

for my Jazz, i called about 8 dealers within metro Sydney, each time i lowered the price, saying the offered at such n such dealer this costs.

they will try and out bid the other dealer sometimes, and usually they tell u to pop in.

Costs for the GLi in Syd - RRP - $20,474 DRIVE AWAY for Manual and $22,843 DRIVE AWAY for the Auto.

Also ask for like fogs car matts etc before u seal the deal.

About to buy one.. probably the GLi or VTi..

anyone with a good idea on best prices these days?

I called up one dealership and Honda Aus are getting footing the bill for the delivery, etc.. which makes the GLi auto $20,999.

Any better deals?

Honda Australia have a program on from 1/1/10 to 31/1/10 for a GLi manual at $17450 drive away in NSW. The auto should be 1K more.

The Honda dealer I visited claimed they didn't know blah blah and quoted $18200 . You should find the ad in the SMH if you are in Sydney and push it in their face. It also probably ran in other states.Honda must be overstocked.

Some Sydney dealers are advertising $17450 on carsales .com.

I ended up buying an 06 Vti 1.5 manual with 54KK for $11600 from a used dealer .
