you can really use any paint. it just depends on how well you prep it.
i used normal paint $3 a can and that worked without a problem.

THE CHEAP paint will easily chip by small stone, alternatively. autobarn sells the anti-chip wheel paint which is very helpful

Make sure its nice and uniformly sanded down, primer, light sand with 600 grit or higher sand paper, primer again, spray first coat of chosen colour, another light sand, then another coat of colour, let dry, + another coat, + clear coat...Thats only if your really anal....otherwise you can just

Sand, primer, colour coat x 2, and up to you whether you wanna clear coat or not.

if there is rust on my rim already do i just sand it out as muich as i can? or should i put some kill rust stuff onto it? can i put primer over rust and then rust proof paint? or will it not work? or if i put rust proff paint on can i safetly then put primer on?

Cheers

Rust as in steel rims?

Just clean it up as much as you can. Rust proof on top. Primer on top of that. It should state on the Rust proof tin.

duuuuudeeeeeee....

Back in 2006 When I had my ED Civic... Heat made the paint peel off after about 4 months... I used $3 matt black paint... Primed 3 coats, paint 4 coats... cleaned, sanded, the lot... Took me 2 weekends...
