just wondering,
is there a difference between the short and the long?

Shorter one has more clearance and less surface area.

Apparently the short one raises oil pressure. Is this true or just a gimmick?

I think so does the long one tpphan. so aaronng less surface area better or worse? haha..

From my experience in the fitration business, it is false. The upstream side will have higher pressure, but downstream will have lower pressure because of the reduced surface area giving a higher pressure drop. So downstream, which is where the oil gets sent to all the moving parts, gets lower pressure.

Less is worse of course. I'm still testing it. I have 5 of the small hamp filters with me now. One is in my car testing. I used to use the full sized blue OEM honda filter before.

i prefer the long ones cos they have more filtration in them

I'm still using the OEM Blue ones, but i have just purchased 5 short Hamp's, would have preferred the long ones but too late.

As long as your have regular oil changes, shouldn't make a difference.

I'm about to install an oil filter sandwich plate, and from what I see, if I use the long ones, I won't have much space to work with.

yup but it just fits with an sandwichplate ;)

I have a K-series, so space is crappy back there. I guess I'll be one of the suckers who will need the short hamp filters. So if anyone wants to sell theirs to me for $10 each, I'll bite. :p

;1894362']y not get a oil filter relocate kit?

Would make things too complicated. I already have my oil sandwich plate anyway.

Hmm so what does this "oil sandwhich plate" do?

It can do many things, mostly bolt on solution for adding additional sensors, lines... Some run oil coolers of them.

What are you installing the plate for aaronng? :)

Oil pressure and temperature gauges.
