So Karma kicked in a few days ago after I cut off this car, I hit a huge pot hole and I'm sure the front right suspension bottomed out

I checked the rim, it was fine then, but this morning while I was pumping the tyres, I noticed the tyre wall had a huge lump like a bruise, located on the top of the tyre wall, maybe 4cm in width then a cm poking out...

the tyre wall isn't damaged right...? any danger in the long term?

thanks

Sounds like your side wall is not just a bit damaged, it's fked.....

you need to replace the tyre to avoid danger, it's non repairable.

when you hit the big pothole good and proper, the sidewall got crushed against the rim and caused a tear on the sidewall(s). Often takes a few days for the damage to manifest itself for the tear to get worse as the tyre is under load.

you might want to check the other tyre(s) that went over the same pothole.

wont get insurance

hit a pothole, its your fault, etc etc....thats what theyll tell you

when mine went, i had jsut bought new tires

they were like, 2 weeks old

couldnt get warranty, coz it wasnt fault, it was caused by hitting a hole

Its "egged" right?? like when you kick a basketball and it buldges out.??

apparently new tyres shouldn't buldge though.. check the tyre warranty, you might be able get it replaced..

Is the wheel holding pressure???

they do when you hit a pothole

ive been in teh situation

they WILL NOT replace it. a tire will not do it on its own accord, there must be something to cause it, and if you hit a pothole, its your own fault

pothole your own fault, damaged wheel could be claimed back from your council.

From what you said, sounds like your tyre has the bubbled effect which means it's phukt and you need to replace both tyres(L/R)
under pressure i think the tyre can burst.

yup... it's phukt like ^^ said.

i've seen this before on near new cars and old... spoke to the car dealer and said it's not warranty cos it's your fault. pothole or hitting curbs or similar causes this...

anyway replace it before it blows while you're driving.

are you guys serious?! replacing both fronts? blowing under pressure at high speed rotation, and sending me into a wall/pole/car in other direction?!

I should have known better using low profile tyres...

why the **** does he need to replace both fronts?

only one is rooted, and if its only got 100km on it there isnt gonna be massive wear differences

just been reading this,
yes you dont need 2 tyres, 1 is fine(assuming the other tyre is still fairly new)

I have had customers in the past try and claim back from the council in charge of that road, but majority are unlucky, cant hurt to try though.

u got pm on the tyre, guarantee you wont find any cheaper :)

i am pretty sure u can call the council and get them to pay for it. I mean the roads are meant to be save for us to drive on, and it if causes ur tyres to buckle/bubble up like u said, then i think thats quite a good reason to make a claim. What else could be worse than a pot hole?
