what is the size of the rear speakers for the ek1?
the guy from an audio store told me that a 7x10 speaker would fit. he said it's better because it gives more bass. but from my understanding, ek1 rear speakers are 6x9..
he recommended the Kenwood KFC-HQ718 for $149. what do you guys reckon? is this a good price and speaker? will it fit my car?
thanks.

i already got the front with splits.. i need rear speakers because i'm getting rid of the subwoofer at the boot.. it's taking too much space..

then.. do this... get 6x9 and put them on ur tray.. and use ur other 6x9 on the speakers.. so 4 x 6x9's on the back... fronts with splits. and 1 amp for speakers thats it bro...

I agree with this apart from the Tray part.
DO NOT do that unless you have one spare
But you are more likely to find one FS with the holes already cut (so keep an eye out for that)

I only use round speakers... more even flex or cone break-up

why would i have 4 at the back? i only want 2 to fit where the rear stock speakers are...to compensate the subwoofer's absense. so i want something that's got good bass.. know any good brands?
what do u mean by tray? is that the wood thingy that you can remove at the back?

some do some don't
could always just get your own and hook it up, not hard at all
7x10's do somewhat fit, just gotta screw it into the trim or something

Sound Stream Tarantula 6x9 good bass for price... easy fit just go straight in... i had problems with my old 6x9 as the basket was too big and i had to bend out the mounting hole a bit... but the SST6.9 fit in nice and good bass... my sub is out of my car atm and they are fairly sufficient

To put to rest the claims about 7x10 from people that obviously don't know.
Kenwood 7x10s come with a spacer that allows the speaker to mount into a 6x9 hole with NO cutting.
