    DC2 with B16a2 gearbox

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has gone down this path by putting in a B16a2 gearbox in their DC2 ... Just wondering what are the pros and cons and whether you can feel the difference in acceleration and speed ... Any feedback would be much appreciated =)

    A little, yes.

Just make sure you don't go the other way around IE B18C2 or B18B/B18A box onto a B16A.

As long as the gearbox you put in is in good working order, the only cons will be the engine revving higher (and being louder) at highway speeds.

The pros are better acceleration, as you can keep the engine in the narrow VTEC power band better than with the long gearing of your original DC2 box. B16a box is also cheaper than a type R box, but doesn't have LSD.

You should be able to tell the difference (i haven't compared personally tho) as it will be faster.

Ive gone down this path, not in a dc2 though. It was in eg sedan i had last year. Acceleration is better then the s80 vtir gearboxes. U can also give stock dc2r's a run just to giggle lol
